Dressing Up

Elise was helping me clean out her room and she had a great time putting on the clothes. It was so much fun to watch her play dress up! :)

I love this face. I just have to laugh when I see it. It's her "aren't I so funny?!" look.

Swiss Family Easter Eggs

As kids we made Easter eggs a little different than most people do these days. My mom told us that our method was a Swiss tradition that came from my Grandma's side of the family. This year, since the kids are older, I finally got brave enough to try them. My sister Kari posted a description of how to make them on her blog. We did ours just as she describes, except we used nylon stocking instead of thread to hold the flowers on. You can check out her blog if you want more details :) The designs came from dandelions, evergreen sprigs and clovers from our yard. Ah, the rare and beautiful picture of all four children looking at the camera AND smiling!
I thought they came out really pretty and the kids were amazed by them.

Great Grandma's Visit

Smoke follows beauty :)

Great Grandma Shirley came to St. Louis for a month to stay with my mom. We went down to see them and also got to see our family from Chicago. It was so fantastic to spend time together playing, reading stories and making fun memories.

Great Grandmas are a nice place to take a nap.

April Fool's Day Dinner

I have this obsession with making fake food dinners on April Fool's day. This year it was "spaghetti and meatballs and garlic bread" which was actually buttercream frosting noodles, cocoa crispy treat "meatballs" with strawberry icecream topping and lemon pound cake with white chocolate chip "butter". It was my favorite fake food meal yet I think. It actually kind of fooled the kids and Jeff a little. They were NOT going to eat it because the meatballs did NOT look right! :) Notice Lauryn smelling her bread in the above photo :)

Striped Dresses

Bets-this is another little girl I took pictures for. It was a present for her baptism and it was a lot of fun. I don't have the patience to upload anymore though :) Soon I'll post some more pictures of my own kids again!

Hello all! The directions to the striped dress that we were talking about making is at http://lilatuellerdesigns.blogspot.com/. It's listed under March 6th or so. Just scroll down and you will see it. The one I am making is the vertical striped one which the directions describe. I thought it may be fun to exchange fabrics so that the dresses can even coordinate better. I bought one yard of each and maybe if we all cut them into strips and see what we'll need we can quickly mail the extras off and then sew'em up :) What do you think.

Edit in Progress

I'm just learning to edit the HTML on my blog and since I can only do it in 3 minute snippits between kiddo's needs, I am very slow-it's coming along but its going to take a couple days I think :)

Simplify

Been thinking about making and selling slings... Sounds like a great plan. I've already sold two to ladies who approached me in Walmart. Then I got all excited and started planning a website, and spoke with a friend who is opening a shop and wants to sell my slings--but whoa! This goes completely against my life's mantra Simplify-Simplify-Simplify! I have to rethink things.

P.S. I did some portraits for a friend and Betsy asked me to post some. I don't have time to post more than these few :) Maybe I'll make more time soon.
